  I fell asleep right after I heard "Bozie" at the beginning, a name that always makes me mad for what he did to Oscar Wilde. Then I woke up ... listened sadly ... and decided I love your channel. Thank you.

  Interesting episode, but it’s a bit misleading to frame Oscar Wilde as “British.” He was Irish, born and educated in Ireland, and he explicitly rejected being called English. Also, referring to Portora as being in “Northern Ireland” is anachronistic, it didn’t exist in Wilde’s time. These details matter because his identity as an Irish outsider in Victorian England was central to his perspective and work.
