6 Mythical Animals That Actually Exist

The platypus is such a fascinating animal! I can definitely see why European biologists thought it was some kind of weird taxidermy prank. I mean, a duck-billed otter-like creature that lays eggs and has a venomous claw on its front legs? Absolute evolutionary insanity manifested into reality. Then again, I thought the Jackalope was an actual critter when I was a kid, so maybe I am more prone to having a wild imagination than the average person. With that said, if you asked me back when I was a child which animal was more likely to be real, I would not have picked the platypus. Anyway, thanks for the entertaining video!

Most people don't know that actor Erol Flynn's father was a naturalist and figured out what the diet of the platypus was and therefore made it possible to keep one in a zoo.

Literally seen 3 platypuses swimming in a small river near where I live in NSW, I was completely gobsmacked as from what I knew they are rarely seen in the wild here.

Correction on Komodo dragon's bite being toxic... it is now known that their bite is actually venomous. Researchers have recently discovered that there are venom glands that possess anticoagulants and shock-inducing proteins. Basically their prey when bitten bleeds to death.
