Hi everyone, I want to thank you all for your comments. I appreciate the advices and will do my best to take it to heart. I was actually in the process of cutting weight since I had a fight scheduled a few days later. I am used to take salt and electrolytes and drink around 4-6 liters a day. My food is also good. This was the first time in my career that I experienced these cramps, and I think it may have been due to overtraining and possibly not hydrating properly that day. I should definitely ask a nutritionist for advices.

In any case, I’ll definitely keep all your advices in mind and do my best to honor your support.

Brotherly,
Chad

"If I don’t train, my opponent is training."
"You can't complain, even if it hurts. You always have to push."
"Every morning I ask myself why I do this, but I have no choice."
"You have to train harder than the fight itself."
"There’s a point where you have to disconnect in your head."
"If you think, 'I’m tired, I’m dead,' your body will listen."
"It’s mental. I create energy in my head. I tell myself to push."
"Everyone can push to their limit, but going beyond that is another level."
"When you push through pain, you accept it more easily."
"Training is a lot harder than the fight."
"Training is hours and hours every day. The fight is just 15 minutes."
"The crazy thing is, training pushes you more than the actual fight."
"You have to push yourself way beyond the fight itself."
"You always have something wrong with your body, but you keep going."
"You can’t train without pain."
"If you're injured, you still have your arms. Keep training."
"There are no excuses here. If you're a Muay Thai fighter, you just push."
"Living Muay Thai, eating Muay Thai, breathing Muay Thai."
"This is my job. This is the difficult part of my job."
"I train hard every day so I don’t find excuses."
"Tomorrow morning, the same routine will start again."

Funny, I thought that he looked familiar. Then I realised, we served in the same company in the swiss army. What a small world.

I trained with Chad. He's a great teacher, sympathetic, good at explaining and funny too. His kicks are heavy as a sledgehammer too !

One issue in Thailand is that the water often doesn't contain a lot of minerals. You sweat and piss your salt out, and drinking the water doesn't replenish it. You'd need some kind of isotonic drink.

Get this man some sea salt. The reason he's losing so much weight and cramping up during training is that the reverse osmosis filtered water he's drinking is depleting him of electrolytes and causing him to dehydrate even further. What he's doing is a fine strategy when you need to cut weight for a fight (it's called water loading) but makes no sense as part of your daily training.

His mindset is amazingly strong. But he can prevent a lot of the suffering by paying attention to nutrition and recovery. Also losing 5kg in a day is incredibly dangerous.

might help but cramps happen because you drink too much water and sweat out alot of salt, you need to put more salt in your food and maybe drink electrolytes. since its so hot and you sweat alot you lose all your calcium.

I met Chad on a boat going to Koh Samui in January, and can honestly say he is one of the nicest guys. He had a brand new fairtex bag and i said "yoo, nice bag", and he said "do you want it?". haha. He also promised me that he would make it to ONE championship, so chad if you see this bro, you need to stick to it :p
