  If you saw some pictures of Dolly Parton when she was young, it makes you wonder just how beautiful this Jolene girl must have been to be able to compete with her. She was absolutely drop dead gorgeous when she was young.

  The one thing you need to know about Dolly is she is so funny. She tells jokes all the time and you never know whats true or not. She has said multiple times that the story about a woman at the bank was inspiration for the song, but that wasn&apos;t her name. She didn&apos;t get into a physical fight with her, but she did confront her about flirting with her husband. She actually got the name Jolene from a young fan she met, that want her autograph. She told her that her name was pretty and that it sounded like a song. Then told her she was going to write a song called that.

  So, while the story is true as to the source for the song, one thing you need to know about Dolly is she loves a good joke, so I’m sure part of the story is embellished. &nbsp;I have heard Dolly tell a few jokes that would make a sailor blush, and they are usually about her. &nbsp;She could have easily had a second career as a comedian

  I worked for Delta for 22 years, one of my assignments once was escorting Dolly, &nbsp;that woman is the sweetest of the sweetest, she gave me a hug that is still making me feel loved to this day. &nbsp;She came out and said &quot;Oh my, they sent me a handsome young man like you to escort me. &quot; &nbsp;I was so taken aback and smiled for hours. &nbsp;Oh and please forgive me, but that woman makes a pair of jeans look so damn good.

  My favorite quote by Dolly, was when a TV show host asked her about her appearance. She quipped, &quot;Honey, it takes a lotta money, to look this cheap!&quot;

  Dolly has a great program called the Dolly Parton Imagination Library where ahe gifts free books to children ages birth to five for free. &nbsp;She started in 1995 and as of Dec 3rd, 2025 she has gifted &nbsp;more than 300,000,000 to kids around the world. This is just one of the reasons why she has a special place in my heart
