My only problem with this is that Spider-Man's powers already ignore the scaling issue

Most insects get a strength boost from the square-cube law. Humans seem to have lost strength for dexterity, even compared to other primates.
I’m still a fan of the housecat: night vision, reflexes 5 times faster than humans (so 50ms compared to 250ms), excellent jumping and balance, the ability to fall long distances, sensitive hearing, good smell, an ability to move through spaces a contortionist would envy. They probably be a bit stronger than a human, more dexterous, heightened senses, with claws and a tail. So they’d be useful in your rescue situation, and very good at freeze and pounce.

It’s very silly to discount strength ratios due to the square cube law since the only reason Spider-Man is super strong is because he “has the proportional strength of a spider”. Atleast that’s the claim.

For any animal you’d need to ignore the square cube law.

Spider biology: Spider gets drunk on caffein. If the writers stick to this...

Instead of an Octopus, I'd pick the Cuttlefish.
It has the same powers as the Octopus, however, it has:
- Better camouflage abilities: it can rapid-fire change colors to cause something akin to hypnosis/overstimulation, which causes prey/predators to be stunned.
- Aside from its normal tentacles, it has two extra long tentacles that it hides but shoots super far, functionally acting like a chameleon's tongue with its deceptive reach.
Also, you missed some other traits common to cephalopods like Octopus
- Their Ink Squirt: for a superhero, this could be similar to a smokescreen, very useful.
- They have venom.
- They are also known to be able to squeeze through any hole as tiny as a coin.
- They can regenerate limbs, nerves, and skin

Dragonflies. I haven't even started the video yet, and I'm already going to say what my answer would be. The answer is dragonflies.

Well Peter is stated to have the proportionate strength of a spider so if we are going by the comic logic that Spider-Man runs on then a ant hero should definitely have the same proportionate strength regardless of size
