The deep lack of respect for John and his lived experiences resort to me thinking that my conceptualization of the concepts that I need to conceptualize are that these two young boys need some more life experiences in order to gain empathy. The end. I’ve conceptualized that concept. ❤😂

As an attorney, the most interesting depositions are those where the witness dances around questions instead of answering them. If someone won't answer the question, that means you've asked the right question and it's time to dig in. Eventually, they either answer the question or have danced around it so much that they look ridiculous. <br><br>These guys are exactly that kind of witness. The reason they took so long to answer questions about queer people is because they know their views are unpopular. They know that saying their views with their whole chest will make them, and the church, look bad - which is the opposite of what they want. Props to John and Geraldo for pushing these two, but man I would've loved to question them.

I remember when I was a Mormon thinking that my testimony was really impacting others but when you leave the church you realize the testimonies mostly sound the same and rarely influence those outside the church. 99.99% of the world is just like, "Why do you look like a deer in the headlights?"

I just want to come here and corroborate John Dehlin's point that he doesn't tell people to leave the church. He was my therapist in 2014 and he helped me make the decision for myself and I actually stayed in the church for 7 more years after that. He empowers people to choose joy.

I listened to the entire (almost 6 hours!) live and I really tried to do so with an open mind toward them. However, their religious arrogance was hard to deal with. They expect everyone should believe as they do. No room for interpretation. The fact that both John and Gerardo were unbelievably patient and kind spoke volumes. I will never understand how spitting scriptures at non-believers is supposed to magically make them believe.

"You can look at the afterbirth, but don't throw out the baby" is a sentence I never want to hear again in my life. With that said, I'm one of those gay kids who only survived because one person gave me hope. Wasn't John, but I know he's helped others. Love all of you at the podcast
