  Regardless of what happens with Shohei for the rest of his Dodger career, he and the boys have given us beautiful championship baseball this decade, with back to back championships and the most exciting World Series any of us have seen in our lifetimes.  We bleed Dodger Blue for life, so it doesn't matter what happens, really.  I for one am more than satisfied, and if the Dodgers don't win another championship for the rest of my life, I'll always have Game 7, 2025.

  We don’t really know how bad Ohtanis injury is, but to say he’s is going to be a non-factor the entire postseason and the best we can hope for is 1-2 great at bats is way too premature. Freddie could barely walk and the the 1 week off we had before the WS in 2024 was enough time for him. We’re still 1.5 months away from the World Series. 3 weeks away from the start of the postseason. Ohtani may not get back to his best, but I wouldn’t doubt his greatness

  Jack was on fire today.... but I feel like he had this stance early on when in the year when he was advocating for him to only bat. I get it he is focused on the winning and Dylan is into the story of the player. Personally I love the story of the driven player. I love the rant about Ohtani having the kid / dream in him

  Ohtani seems to live to compete and I love that about him but yea the level of competitiveness wring he has is yea not rational and why he is also so great

  If Freddie can miraculously heal his ankle days before the 2024 WS to become WS MVP then Ohtani can heal up in 3 Weeks for the playoffs. Best of both worlds 1. Ohtani’s first half helped a lot with 4 major Dodgers out and help get his pitching replacement Skubal 2. His absence gets De Paula to Majors and he rakes to show Dodger future and not get stuck in the minors like many Dodger prospects or traded to do better for other teams. 3. Shohei comes back better than ever to revenge sweep the Braves in DS, beat PCA & Cubs in the LCS and we play against the Yankees again to get Judge vs. batter only Ohtani 2 and see if the last team to threepeat can stop us from threepeating 😊.

  Ohtani should have been on the IL before the allstar break and freeman should have went on the IL after HE FELL INTO THE DUGOUT. they give these guy way to much runway.

  Super long podcast and I watched every minute.❤ You guys put out one of the best shows out there. <br><br>I always believed that it was better for the team to just have him be a dominant hitter than a two-way. But Dylan convinced me at the beginning of this season to believe in the (naive?) dream of doing both. Oh well.<br><br>I&apos;m typically an optimistic person, but I&apos;m also a parent and I don&apos;t think he can do both anymore. I think sleeping 12 hours a night was probably necessary for him to fully recover from such strenuous athletic feats, and with two children, not to mention his age, I just don&apos;t think that&apos;s possible from here on out.<br><br>That said, I believe in the Dodgers and the three peat!

  These two takes on Ohtani boil down to &quot;Jack- we should err on side of blaming Ohtani for what he tried to do&quot; v &quot;Dylan- we should err on admiring him.&quot; Dylan is right. Jack is wrong. Reason being- we don&apos;t watch Ohtani because he wins. We don&apos;t watch the dodgers because they win. We watch them because of how they make us feel. That&apos;s sports. How you win matters. How you play matters. Nobody likes OKC. They don&apos;t play the right way. Ohtani will probably lose this year. Arguably cost dodgers their 3peat. But he basically won us the last two and brought awe back to a sport that was missing it. That&apos;s why Dylan is right and Jack is wrong

  Also, the reality of it is that nobody wants a playoff season without Shohei. So give him some Cortizone shots and send him out there.

  Jack and Dylan, isn’t there a very real and even likely path for a threepeat without Shohei being Shohei? &nbsp;A rotation of Yamamoto, Skubal, Snell, and Glasnow can dominate any lineup. &nbsp;And outside of the Reds and Mets series from ‘25 and ‘24 respectively, the Dodgers haven’t really slugged their way to a series win. &nbsp;The pitching has carried this team to rings. <br><br>Also, Freddie and Muncy have been consistent all year. They just need to continue to hit well in October, not a terribly big ask given how good they’ve been most of the season. &nbsp;Each of these guys can carry a lineup. &nbsp;Then you just need two or three other guys to hit well to give the lineup threatening depth. &nbsp;Mookie, Teo, Pages, Smith, Edman…any of those guys could give you big swings when you need it.
