  After talking with other engineers, we think it might be a loose counterweight or spider. We don't believe it's a warped drum. I would love everyone's opinion. Diagnosing machines can be difficult through email and videos. Sometimes, you need to be there to find the problem.

  I just love this guy. I don&apos;t even have a washer problem, but this all makes sense. And you are so good at delivering your message sir. Great energy and knowledge. And yes thanks for fighting for right to repair it&apos;s so important.

  Hello my friend, <br> <br>I have been working with washing machines here in Brazil for 37 years, and I fully agree with you. Here in Brazil, Samsung drum spiders used to last an average of 10 years, but today they last 5 years at most. <br> <br>The LG drum spiders here in Brazil are much more resistant than Samsung&apos;s, which is why I recommend LG machines. Customers know there is a drum cleaning program on the panel, but many ignore it. The consequence is that soap residue and, especially, fabric softener get trapped in the spider, causing it to fail in a short time. <br> <br>I also fight a lot here against greedy manufacturers who only think about profit. On my channel, I make videos complaining about the quality of today&apos;s appliances. Best of luck to you!

  Thank you 👍<br>I also didn&apos;t understand before why they make the crossbar so weak, but now I understand that it&apos;s all because of greed (and unfortunately, this doesn&apos;t only happen with washing machines).

  When i see things like this im happy about my miele w3375 edition 111 bought a month ago for 130€. This machine is from 2013, whole drum is stainless steel with steel weights and a steel spider. Opened it for a general clean, installed new suspension for 25€. The machine works flawless and has a superior build quality. I think ill never buy a new machine again

  50 years ago we were manufacturing those drum supports and they were solid aluminium, then around the mid to late 1990s although the shape remained the same I noticed the support was lighter in weight, that was, until it started filling up with sludge within the landings and webs in the new designs, I was attempting to discourage the use of liquids &nbsp;by my customers since back then as I had seen the damage taking place. &nbsp;There was an acceleration in corrosion of the supports around the time Ecover was all over the tv and as other manufactures championed their liquid detergents, the problems became worse. Another problem with more modern machines contributing to this is the low water levels, in the 80s and 90s the water levels came halfway up the door which together with the drum action on wash it used to effectively flush the sludge away out of the cavities in the supports. All of the other points you brought up regarding the deterioration of the supports cracking is 💯 also.
