Why Old Running Man (Korean) Is Better

To put it simply, the show's original concept lived up to its name, *Running Man*: the cast had to constantly run while carrying out missions and engaging in the name-tag ripping game. That was back when the veteran members were younger and physically capable of such intense running. Now, however, they have aged; the production directors worry that forcing them to stick to the old format could lead to injuries. We used to see how those early games were structured—from the individual missions and scavenger hunts to the various games and the climactic final round. With the veteran members now in their forties (excluding Se-chan and Ye-eun), maintaining that level of activity would be extremely taxing. As Yoo Jae-suk has noted, the members fully understand how drastically the show's concept has changed from the early days, yet they remain committed to entertaining the audience right up until the final episode—even as fans eventually begin to move on.

I've been watching the newer episodes of running man lately and i still laugh a lot but not as much as with the older episodes.I could never put my finger on why they felt so diferent so i instently clicked when i saw this video haha. I completly agree. I like the current show but i never laugh as hard as i did with the older episodes. It used to be like watching a movie, now i'm watching an entertainment show. Wich is completly fine, just diferent.

I think some better writing can bring it back,
We can still manage their physical well-being,
I think a good writer can make running man back to that nostalgia that we all have.
