Absolutely fascinating! I find Spinoza's revelations about the Christianity & the "immutable" word of God truly thought provoking. Thank you for a great video!

This is a great summary of how Christianity emerged and eventually became what it is now, and it agrees with what most biblical scholars are saying. The Gospels contradict each other, history, science and logic. People still believe that disease and sickness are caused by demons and that Jesus healed by casting them out. The trinity and original sin are concepts that are alien to what Jesus truly preached. The epistle of James explains the true path to salvation, but most Christians don't even read it. In a recent interview, C.J. Cornthwaite, a biblical scholar, asked Paula Fredrickson, another biblical scholar who wrote a book about diversity in early Christianity, why did Christianity win. She answered that Constantine version of Christianity won if you call this a win. What is dangerous is how religions are weaponized to exclude and persecute others leading to oppression and injustice. Keep up the good work, I really like your podcasts.

As a 17 year old, I told my parents that I did not believe in God and they me asked to leave their home. I left and always loved them regardless of their ignorance. They were good people but uneducated and simple.

I WAS RIGHT!!!! "I was right, everything I said was right". --lol

A Student Pastor & Teen Leader, within the church that I was attending at the time, suggested to me, to just read the Bible, cover-to-cover, as I would, any other book. He warned me that Liviticus would be hard to get through but well worth the work. I did, and I was only 13.

When I finished it, the Teen Leader/Student Pastor asked me what I got from all of that. I said that I saw many great lessons, but over all, it was odd, inconsistent & caused me to have even more questions about the book, itself. He laughed outloud & said I was VERY YOUNG to have gathered so much from that.

Since then, I have read the bible 'cover-to-cover' 3 more times, and have accrued even more questions, I left the church, turned towards Metaphysical & Wiccan Practices, 'Free Thought', and finally landing on Buddhism, and now... Buddhism with God.

AGES AGO (seems like lifetimes ago), I defined 'Religion' as the Covenant & Union of Church and State, much like 'Marriage' is the Covenant & Union of Man & Woman. Were they ever really MEANT to be a Union? Or was that 'ghost written' in as a guilt trip on Women?

Women have 'connected abilities' most Men don't have. Rather than unite in their common connection, they have been made to 'compete' over one thing or another.

The Church teaches the contradiction & burdens females with being 'chast', AND being carnal for their husbands, who, back then, also had concubines & mistresses; and THAT was socially acceptable.

The bible has been used since it's building, as a leverage post for Kings & Clergy to control the lesser citizens.

I believe in the Holy Trinity, and connect that 'Entity' as 'Mental, Physical & Etherial'; Mind, Body & Soul. It is the connection that makes us One, with God, and God is Nature.

When I have tried to share my 'philosophy' with my fellow Christians, I get shut down in the RUDEST, most Un-Godly ways; interrupted, scolded, yelled at, even laughed at. It doesn't change my mind, it made me leave the Church and RELATE to Jesus' life & Crucifixion. I see it. I can actually SEE the Truth, the Patterns, and the Narrow, Righteous Path, all the while wondering if I am right or if the church is right & I'm the evil being... then this video comes along, and I connect with it. I get it.

I have NEVER heard of Spinosa before, but I ABSOLUTELY Understand him/his work, his philosophy... I get it, and I want more!!

Thank you SO MUCH for this, for posting this.

So much in just one and a half hours. I long ago decided for me the bible is PIC & MIX take the good and reject the rubbish which will be different for us all... I'm also reminded of a story of my Grandfather looking out from the trenches of WWI, seeing the priest blessing the German troops and his friend saying, "look Harry he's blessing those men, telling them they are doing God's work with every one of us they kill". That's when my Grandfather lost his faith...

Matthew 7:28 When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
