I had a Bill raise me! He wasn’t my bio dad either but he was the BEST man. He knew when he married my mother right off. She told him she was pregnant when they met. Bill, dad, was the best thing that could have happened to us. I miss that dad hug.

Man I absolutely love Bill. I had a biological father that didn't care if I ate or not. Whether there was food on the table for us or not. This is a true gem of a man. I so hope she honors this man as her father still.

I'm an adoptive mother, and I think it's best for all involved that adoption is dramatically different than it was 50 years ago. My children knew from the beginning they were adopted, and had a history before they came to us. The agency gave us the language ("birth-mother, or -father," rather than "biological mother or father" because EVERYONE is biological, so that's a misnomer. Also, the parents who raise the child are the "real" parents. They're the ones invested in raising the child). It validates everyone's experience, and keeps no secrets. My children are adults now, and we've given them permission from early on to find their birth families. If it were me, I'd want to! All the best to those searching here.
