  I use my Klein toner to follow wires in the wall. I appreciate the video. I wish I had seen it when I first got my toner. I had to teach my self through trial and error.

  With the VDV500-063, I often have it read a red light for continuity, often with older wire. Is there a cause or solution for this happening?

  I do have a "klein advanced circuit tracer" what is the difference between this toner and tracer ? thank you. Do we really need both ?

  what about older homes with no ground. plastic boxes. how can you use this toner and tracer?

  Setting up the toner, like you showed red hot black ground.The alternating part of it stops , disconnect , one of the wires , then it starts alternating again?

  Hey there, good video. I am a DIY, but fairly knowledgeable. I have a bunch of Cat 6 wire all run to the same spot. They use to be labeled but some of the labels have come off. not all are terminated, do I have to strip the insulation off in order to trace the wire or can i just clamp to the insulation? Some video I have watched say it is not necessary to strip off the insulation. also, will this these klein toners work for my project?

  Great video btw; I'm hoping to use the VDV500-820 one to find a short somewhere between the kill/safety switch in the attic room and the replaced new breaker in the basement panel; everything affected shows no visible irregular conditions (junction boxes/ outlets/switches). Any advice  before I begin? Thanks in advance.

  I just purchased this VDV500-920 and little bit confusing not easy to use on not like other toner this is my old  PTE Wire Tracer & Circuit Tester -Tone Generator & Probe Kit  better for me easy to use

  Use the cold water pipe exposed at the dryer outside and the jumper and running an extension cord to the water spikeet out of the ground.The laundry for the cold water should be accessible<br>Or even the ground rod
