this is amazing! finally somebody who understands how advertising for your course platform works: release a full multi-hour course with an amazing teacher and it's muuuuch more likely that I will end up paying for the course platform. Prime is a magnet.

You're the only person I have to set to x0.8 instead of x1.5/2 hahah

I almost NEVER leave a comment, but this.... THIS is high quality material. The interactive platform, step by step, make it free to read, and on top of that have the instructor do all of it and record it for you. End to end, amazing.

In training network engineer here. Your explanation of the actual TCP functionality is actually really fantastic and one of the best I’ve ever heard, I’m just listening at work. Seriously, 15/10 stuff dude.

As a little fun fact some UDP implementation actually allows for a sort of windowing but it sucks. Samba share uses “windowing” but it’s on a packet by packet basis meaning it sucks to use in a production environment due to it doubling the amount of packets needed for successful transmission but in the homelab is pretty sweet.

Referencing the RFCs is also very sexy bro. I feel like a lot of my fellow engineers just kind of read how protocols like OSPF work at a semi deep level but they don’t understand the actual implementation or reasoning of it. I’m at the mid CCNP level but this is closer to being entry to solid CCIE level protocol knowledge which is extremely impressive stuff dude.

This is also is a neat way of showing how the osi model is a way of thinking rather than strict implementation which is something that a lot of really new network admins/ unknowledgeable developers think.

Would love to see you implement other protocols like dhcp, icmp, ftp, ssh, or dns. I would really like to see ospf, LLDP, or stp implementation but I have no clue how that would work since it seems “”easier”” to do client server relationships rather than router to router, switch to switch, or router to switch relationships.

You need to implement rfc1149 or you’re bad

I did this to learn golang. Because Prime told me to do this. Good to see his solution.
