  I have been called out on this before, but I still believe that the, "nose jobs" were completed in the paint shop with the highly skilled paint technicians to, "get it through paint." And since they were working the 11-7 shift (night) they didn't really have any supervision and painted the nose from templates and color codes from decades ago.

  With some of them so well done it wouldn't surprise me if some of the railroad employees are unofficially in on it.

  There is a difference between vandalism and unofficial/unauthroized paint updates, gaurantee its railroad employees painting these

  I love that railroads do heritage units. It's honestly such a cool tip of the hat to the old lines that built America.

  The UP locals running through parts of Los Angeles are so badly vandalized, you can barely tell what company the belong to. Its complete uglification.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkYJLDbeswY&amp;t=428">7:08</a> I got a cat and me being a train nerd named her chessie. Anytime people meet her, they always comment that the name is unique and they&apos;ve never heard of anyone naming their cat after a railroad (i know technically she&apos;s &nbsp;named after the actual cheesie cat). Looks just like the artworks too.

  Reminds me back in 2018 I was a policeman for Amtrak PD covering Ventura &amp; Santa Barbara Counties, I assisted UPRR Police with a vandalism case out of the Guadalupe yard. Vandals/ foamers hand painted a SD locomotive back to black red and gray SP colors. <br><br>It was impressive, but UP did not think so, nor did they appreciate the historical context. The cost to fix this art work was over 25k. <br><br><br>The vandals were caught, prosecuted and ordered to pay restitution to UPRR. I’m looking through my old photos hope to find some shots for you.

  Great video and a good summary of all the past &quot;vandalized&quot; locomotives you&apos;ve captured in the past! &nbsp;Here&apos;s a non-locomotive example: Canadian Pacific caboose 434704, used as a shoving platform in the Toronto area. &nbsp;One talented tagger completely sprayed one side of the caboose with a very stylistic &quot;Canadian Pacific&quot; text and possibly recreated the car number as well in the correct position. &nbsp;Since the caboose still said &quot;Canadian Pacific&quot; and had the correct car number, CP never bothered to repaint it!

  When I was still an engineer at CSX, the 6900 showed up in my consist but they had painted over the first attempt at the Ches-C logo on the nose. I made sure it was freshened up before we got back home…. I don’t work there anymore so who cares lol
