  June 1974, I spent the whole night alone on the Acropolis, near the Parthenon. It felt safe and calm despite the turbulent history. A special, sacred place indeed!

  My wife is from Pireaus, she took me to the Parthenon and Sounio the first time I came to Greece.<br>The past 14 years we have been to so many classic Greek locations, from Marathon and Thermopylae, to all of Pelliponisos, Tinos (Volax) where the mythological battle between the Titans and Olympian gods is said to have taken place, Evretania, Sparti, Patra aquaducts, Delphi, many islands, the Throne of the Cyclops, which seems a goatshack now, the list goes on and on.<br>I just love history and geologie. Haven&apos;t been to Crete yet, but we will.<br>Everywhere we drive I see hilltops with stones massed on top, and I wonder if that&apos;s a undiscovered temple.Greece is awesome.

  The list of major contributors for the original &nbsp;Acropolis temple construction was preserved. Amazing.
