VDH is a genius, to be able to recite all of this history with an obvious background in many other disciplines applying color to the story.

What?! A Victor Davis Hanson lecture on Leadership, and there’s ~300 views and no comments yet? I’ll do what I can to remedy this situation.

VDH puts a different and enlightening view on WWII that I have never heard before. I have been studying WWII history for the last 50 years.

Another very thorough lecture on a subject some of us have been reared on. My own passions for the study of military history mirror Nanson's. Every lecture he holds and every book he writes, he carries within him the spirit of his forefathers who went off to serve their country, some of whom paid the ultimate sacrifice. I too resonate with this spirit of honoring our elders past. It is our "raison d'etre".<br>WW 2 leadership is nothing short of a subject for endless discussion. Hanson's themes within it are all worthy of study and understanding. The Phoney War and the period after the Fall of France is indeed a unique "War is Over" time that deserves serious attention by scholars. Other wars of our past have few, if any parallels with it.

Such a complete synopsis packed into such short time...but I often wonder could it be possible that Adolf never heard of Napoleon Bonaparte..???.

I wonder if Hillsdale students study the origins of America’s greatest contribution to music loved and celebrated in concert halls & cafes throughout the world.
