Rolex publishes a parts commitment of at least 35 years after a reference leaves the catalogue. Oris publishes a ten-year service interval on the Calibre 400. Tudor publishes no interval, no service price and no parts policy at all, while quietly sending its watches to Rolex's own service centres. Casio publishes nothing either, then took back watches built in 1983 and returned them running for a hundred dollars. The surprise is in the arithmetic. Over thirty years the servicing bill on a $350 Seiko and a $10,050 Submariner lands in the same range, because what drives that bill is how often the brand wants the watch back, not what you paid for it.
