This just makes Airplane even funnier, if that's possible.

The makers of Airplane bought the script to Zero Hour to make a parody of it. It's not chance, or plagiarism.

I heard a story that Peter Graves was uncomfortable with his lines around the kid. I can appreciate it, but it is comedy gold!

I always thought that this was just a generic spoof on airplane disaster movies. Never realised it was based on one film.

    LOL.

Would be awesome to have something done like this with a modern movie. Everything now is just too serious.

I loved Airplane when if first came out and I discovered Zero Hour a few years ago. It is so neat to the the scenes side by side. It is really amazing how close to each the movies are. Thanks

Zero Hour! was itself a remake of a CBC drama starring James Doohan.
