Bloody Hell, what a great story. You were the right guy to buy it. Being the first owner is an incredible thing to say today.

So glad to see he isn't afraid to drive it despite the fact that it has such low mileage. Cars were meant to be driven, not sit around.

I had a 63 Corvair back in 1974. I loved the body style and rear engine. I hated the 4 spd ball in socket linkage. I blew the engine after it ran low on oil. I rebuilt the motor at Ft MacArthur in San Pedro and reassembled it at LA04 Missile Base. When I was reassigned I gave it to a friend. First Chevy I ever bought. Great memories !!
Thanks…

My dad and I took a test drive in 1960 in a white with red interior stick that looked just like this one. Still remember it. I owned a '66 500 and a '65 Monza 4 speed convertable. They were awesome in the snow during Michigan winters. A rare gem you have sir. Thanks

The 1960 Corvair was one of the first cars to have overlapping windshield wipers.

Pete is a perfect custodian for this car. He's knowledgeable and respects what it is. It's in good hands. It's a privilege to see an unrestored original car this well preserved. The build quality from Fisher Body is impressive.

In the seventies I ran my Corvairs on high octane aviation fuel. It made a huge difference.

How could this car not sell in 1963?
Inside and outside color is right and it seems to have been ordered wisely with options.

Amazing, I owned a 64 Monza 110 hp power glide automatic. Same color combination as yours. I was in high school in 1971 wish I still had that car, so much fun to drive.
