"DON’T BELIEVE THE HULU HYPE!!!” RAEKWON & GHOSTFACE TALK WU- STORY, 36 CHAMBERS & RZA FEATURE BAN??

In this brand new clip from My Expert Opinion Ep. #09, legendary Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah and Raekwon sit down with Math Hoffa and Uncle Seth to dive deep into the roots and mythology of the Wu-Tang empire. The conversation starts by exploring the iconic Kung Fu film influence on their music, with Raekwon praising RZA's genius for being the first to run "classic Kung Fu flicks audio running through the tracks." They reminisce on a shared love for movies like Better Tomorrow, The Killer (John Woo), and Five Deadly Venoms, which inspired the Clan's entire philosophy. Unheard Wu-Tang Stories: Ghostface and Raekwon break down some of the most fascinating aspects of the group's early days, including: The No-Features Policy: Why RZA initially didn't want the Clan members doing features with other artists, comparing the structure to a Mafia family where "respect is respect." They discuss how this rule changed after the massive success of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and their solo albums. Staten Island vs. Brooklyn: A rare story about the initial tensions and "neutralization" needed among members, given that Ghostface was the only one from Stapleton, surrounded by members from Park Hill and the Brooklynites (GZA, Dirty, Killa). Ghostface jokes about feeling like, "I'm around a bunch of n****s I really don't f**k with." The Truth on Wu-Tang: An American Saga: They clarify that the dramatized shootout story between different Staten Island projects in the Hulu series is "a storyline," advising fans: "Don't believe the hype on the Hulu." The Legendary Battle Rap: They recount a huge on-stage battle with almost the entire Clan, where Cappadonna "skated with the money," proving he was a "slick n***a" and a true "Slick Rick" style MC. Ghostface hilariously talks about preparing for a battle, saying he would have to "prep" and study the "Gracies" (UFC legends) to step up to the level of KRS-One and other legends.
