Thunderball is not the mushroom cloud.  It is the actual explosion.  You get the expanding, rolling fireball pushing the air out at around 240mph.  Eventually, that stops & the air pressure is greater outside & it then rushes in at 80mph & lasts 3 times as long as the wind rushed out from the initial explosion.  <br>The bombs were actually British, as SPECTRE stole a British Vulcan Bomber carrying the bombs.

Poor Sharks, evil Humans,The movie is good and brilliant in places especially for the 60s,I could  imagine this movie was even better  if you were lucky enough to watch it on the big screen People tell me it was massive for the Time. I watched it on telly in the early 70s great fun Sean Connery, is still the best bond and the only believable 007 Spy

Always wondered what the film title "Thunderball" meant because it was not referenced in the movie.

The first Bond movie I ever saw, heard all about Goldfinger and when this movie came to my theater I bought my ticket, and thought it was great, but I was ten and now I think it is a little boring in places.
