The music composer of this film (Alan Menken) is the most Oscar winning LIVING person. He has won an astounding 8 Oscars, all for Disney musicals (2 for THE LITTLE MERMAID, 2 for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, 2 for ALADDIN, and 2 for POCAHONTAS), all between 1989 and 1995 inclusive. HIs scores have played a crucial role in the Disney movies released during that period, and he also scored this film. He needs to be talked about more regarding his role in the 1990s Disney period.
By the way, Happy Birthday to you (my birthday was a couple of days ago too)!

GUYSSSS the "tear of life" at the end of the movie doesn't completely come out of nowhere; it mirrors the beginning of the movie when the drop of sunlight grew the flower that was used to cure the Queen! Anyways, just wanted to point that out to everybody after all these years ☀

Happy birthday Sophia!!!

Fun fact: For the character design of Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert, directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard held what they called the "hot man meeting" where they had all of the female employees at Disney Animation in one room and asked them for their opinions of what made a man good-looking, in order to create Flynn/Eugene's character design with features such as eye color, hair color and style and body type.

What makes Mother Gothel such an amazing villain (other than the Frollo parallels) is that I believe she actually cares for Rapunzel in her own sick way. She tells Rapunzel she loves her, she’s gone on long trips to bring her birthday presents, and she knows her favorite food. Now, she is a narcissist that ultimately wants the flower’s powers for her own benefit and imprisons Rapunzel but, I do believe there was a mother/daughter relationship on Gothel’s end.

I think Eugene cut her hair before she could heal him because Rapunzel promised Gothel she would stay with her if she was allowed to heal him. He couldn't know Gothel would die and didn't want Rapunzel feeling bad for breaking her promise to "her mother". Rapunzel made it clear that she was proud to always keep her promises

i think if the queen almost died having rapunzel, maybe they never tried for another child bc of the risks and there not being another flower to help with her pregnancy.

For how she caught up to them, i imagine that it has to do with how Rapunzel was going back and forth in the forest before they truly set out

I love the whole scene with Rapunzel and Eugene with the lanterns. "I See The Light" is such a beautiful song.
