Yousefi needs 210+ snatch to be a serious contender for gold medal. That 20 yr old Iraqi lifter, 204kg snatch, wow!

Yousefi needs to improve his snatch. If he does that, he will be world champion. Even if his snatch doesn't improve, I still think he will get the world record in the clean and jerk. That 262 went up so easily for him.

Interestingly the top 3 finishers in this category finished in the same order at the 2019 Jr Worlds, Lalayan, Davoudi, Yousefi, the first time I saw Yousefi when as a 15 year old he did 225 and the first time Lalayan beat Davoudi. The year before their positions were reversed.

An outstanding session.  I enjoyed this with 4 lifters mixing it up, final standings not known till the last lift more than a comp where Lasha stomps everyone to death. You can acknowledge Lasha as GOAT and still like this that had 2 different lifters in danger of bombing make clutch 3rd attempt jerks, a handful of Jr World records, a guy make a +260 kg cl& jerk not named Lasha for the first time in many years, same guy coming back from a 14 kg deficit to get bronze and overall great win by Lalayan. Terrific comp!  That being said I hope Lasha does come back.

I love and appreciate the comradery and togetherness of the Armenian and Georgian teams. It's as if they're just a couple of mates lifting weights. The fact that Lasha dominated the Sport for so long makes the coming years open to all the lifters to be champ.

Davoudi and Gor both made clutch 3rd attempt cl&jerks to get totals. I believe this is first time Ali has finished ahead of Gor in a major comp. Gor lost out on Bronze when Yousefi came from 16 kg down in snatch! In huge comeback.  Also in Asians this year Gor had a 15 kg lead over Man Assad after snatch but got beat. He did well to make his 3rd jerk here and not bomb but this lift is costing him. He’s amazingly strong, unbelievable pull but he needs to work on his weakness. Looks so awkward jerking, back foot flat and angled. I don’t know how he doesn’t hurt himself with that technique.

Impressive snatch they do - BUT Miss Lasha ....and his outstanding tech ...  I hope Lasha comes back even IF he does not win - only good to have him there ...
