  Your story really hits home w me. I sold my collection about 20 years ago. All of it. For a fraction of what it was worth. I regretted it ever since, and have been slowly rebuilding, but man is it hard on the wallet now! And I'm of the same mind, with just regretting how I sold it. I wish I'd of kept the ones I really liked!

  I sold my Spawn collection full run 1-240. I sold it for 3800$ I think I did alright. I low balled a couple thousand bucks. The collection was immaculate. I still cry in the night sometimes........😢

  Yes, I&apos;ve sold my collection at a few points in time. &nbsp;I blame my mother, but the first time was strictly on me. &nbsp;It would have been in 1978 and I sold most of my comics, keeping a few issues like Spider-Man <a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/134">#134</a> and selling off Captain America <a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/117">#117</a>, Werewolf by Night #32 and Giant-Sized X-Men #1 without a care in the world. &nbsp;Mostly I kept my Heavy Metal and Dragon magazines as well as the Playboys I got from my older brother. &nbsp;I got about 5 cents on the comic and turned around and bought a hardback copy of the White Dragon novel, keeping the rest of the cash. &nbsp;In hindsight it&apos;s easy to say I should have kept some that turned into high dollar, but I had no way to know that at the time and I didn&apos;t have the space. &nbsp;Later on, when my parents were selling their house and moving out of state, I kept the Weird World series by Doug Moench and the Dragon magazines and told my mother to sell the rest. &nbsp;Again, I have some regrets but console myself that I&apos;d have sold them a year later when I joined the military and wouldn&apos;t have a place to store them. &nbsp;Life, it keeps happening.

  Lol. I never cared to sell anything and what helped me about that was every seven years I would refresh my comics with new boards and sleeves. But, before I went through all that work I would buy an Overstreet and look up value while I refreshed my comics. So I have two copies of NM 98 newsstand in nm that the guide says are worth $50 as I&apos;m putting them in new stuff. Now, I bought these during a beer run while in college at a grocery store holding two 12 packs and two comics in line to pay for. Long story short. Sent both in three years ago, 9.6 and 9.0. But going back in my mind when they were worth $50, I knew that all the other books I collected off the spinner just after the magazine guy filled it and I picked out a few of the best condition copies, that one day all those comics would be worth a few more bucks than what I paid for. When Ghost Rider #15 glow in the dark cover came out I bought 40 newsstand copies from around town picking the mint books just after the mag guy filled them. I so far have 20 newsstand copies in cgc 9.8 with maybe eight more that will get the 9.8. My point was, Wait!

  Always therapeutic to hear stories like this one. &nbsp;Sold a big chunk of my collection about 12 years ago. &nbsp;Mostly Marvel. &nbsp;Some good keys I really regret selling. &nbsp; Such is the life.

  When I was a kid growing up in the late 1960&apos;s - 1970&apos;s... my older cousins had boxes (not comic book boxes, just plain old cardboard boxes) of Silver-age Marvel and DC Comics. After they read the books... it was considered like &quot;old newspaper trash&quot; back then. So I recall seeing my cousins using these used comic books (X-Men, Ditko-era ASM, Fantastic Four, Batman, Detective Comics, and others) to line the bird cage, starting the fire for BBQ cookout, swatting flies. They even tore out pages to be used to wipe the windows with glass cleaner. No one thought about keeping comic books.<br><br>And then my cousins also gave me as a kid... X-Men #2 and a few other single digit issues. I also had the Tales to Astonish issue that featured the first appearance of &quot;The Leader&quot;. I had some of the early single digit issues of ASM, including some early Green Goblin appearances. And as a kid during that time, I just read those books many times... until one day my mom threw them all away along with the old newspaper.<br><br>I suppose it is easy to guess what my regret is today.

  That is something I had to do too. When my wife and I moved back from California we only two compact cars to bring our stuff and our dog back to Portland. I gave my collection to a couple kids that lived in the apartment complex we lived in. We also had to sell or donate all of our furnature

  Man you brought back some memories with your story Bronze. &nbsp;I still have my childhood collection from the 70s <s>90s at my folks house. &nbsp;When i was preteens I asked my LCS what they thought my early GI Joes were wirth. &nbsp;I left it with them and returned later that week. &nbsp;They had them priced, bagged and walled in their store and gave me a fraction of what they were selling it for. &nbsp;I cried, tild my folks what happened and said I learned a valuable lesson about business -</s> know what your books are worth and what you are willing to sell them for. &nbsp;I took that to heart til this day.

  I had almost the exact same situation in my life. I sold my collection in 2017 for $300. Looking back, I realize there were a handful of comics in there that were worth that alone. I started reading and collecting again within the last year. I am definitely a more informed collector now and won&apos;t make that mistake again.

  I had a similar situation about 10 years ago. I was out of work, struggling to find something in my field, and needed money, so I liquidated my childhood comic collection. Didn&apos;t get nearly what any of it was worth, decided not to keep anything because I needed money badly, and have regretted it. I got in better straits and started making enough money (and yes got bored during covid) and started rebuilding my collection. I have pretty much rebuilt what I lost but waaaaay overpaid for pretty much everything because hype and speculation have made comic collecting insufferable. I still regret not being able to have the original few issues of Bone in my collection anymore (I actually sold those as a kid before they really took off in value) but otherwise I am happy with what I&apos;ve regathered. Now I have way too much and don&apos;t know how to get rid of some of it because the current collection is three times the size of my childhood collection. I know I won&apos;t be able to sell at a profit because much of my collection is based on the nostalgia of my 80s and 90s childhood so a lot of it is &quot;worthless&quot; and not rare. I wish there was an easy way to unload a lot of books at a fair price instead of an LCS giving me $5 per short box or Half Price Books giving me a penny per issue. Cataloguing them on an excel sheet and selling piece meal on ebay would be a monumental task, so I now have a room in my apartment that is swallowed by a giant collection that has brought me joy but is slowly suffocating me.
