  Higanbana / red spider lilies are associated with death for multiple reasons. They often grow in graveyards. Because they are poisonous, animals usually avoid them. So they don&apos;t disturb graves. &nbsp;(people also plant them near rice fields to deter mice from eating the rice)<br>They bloom in the fall, during the Buddhist Higan festival, which is a festival to honor ancestors. <br>Another meaning of the word higan is &quot;the other shore&quot;, so people believe the flowers guided the souls to the afterlife or next life. <br><br>They are not an evil flower. Rather the opposite.

  I love Hinako. Rooting for her till the end! The way that Japanese folklore and history is intertwined in details in the game is so freaking cool. Can&apos;t wait to see the full gameplay!💜

  I am from the Netherlands too but have been in Japan for over 15 years. They really nailed the atmosphere, and yes we get earthquakes a lot, and actual flooding in my area right now, but it is what it is. Love living here regardless!
