The thing is, trying to get good shots often makes me feel like I’m losing the point of what I’m doing. If I go hiking, am I really hiking, or just filming myself? You spend so much time and energy filming that it stops you from actually doing it.

I'm gonna be honest! 90% of it is the awesome locations and lighting!

You have to turn off Subject Detection to make the A7IV focus on the item in front of you like for example the sushi at 8:06 mark. Sony cams are too intelligent to lock focus on you since it still recognizes you despite the sushi covering tour face.

People think going for the more expensive, overhyped and newest cinema lines will make their content better and in turn, make them better as a photographer/videographer but nope! in my opinion, mastering the craft on something capable, but not as high tech or automated as the newer more expensive cameras (FX3, A7CII, FX30, FX9, A7SIII) shows true skill.

8:01 I’m not sure if someone’s mentioned this in the comments already, but I’m pretty sure you can adjust the stickiness of the autofocus transitioning from subject to subject in the settings.

I have the A7iv myself in video mode the AF is slowed down and not really adapting due to the video af setting. You can change the AF Stickiness and Af speed from Very Sticky and Medium Slow (Out of the box) to really quick and responsive AF
