  I asked an older argentina man about their beef with England from the 80s. &nbsp;<br>He said Maradona and other teammates had friends and family who were killed in the falklands war. &nbsp;So it was a very personal grudge for the team.

  USA and Mexico&apos;s non-football conflict doesn&apos;t end with that wall, it&apos;s also history-based, and a lot like England-Scotland.

  Honestly, I feel the Netherlands - Germany rivalry has softened quite a bit by now. We Dutch sure still consider Germany our biggest rival, but the hatred is history, there is respect now. The war is so long ago the number of people who experienced it first hand is dwindling, and in football we haven&apos;t had any truly big games in ages.<br><br>While it is not really a rivalry, when it comes to hatred, I feel it&apos;s much more against Portugal....mostly because of the Battle of Nuremberg.
