My headcannon is that the word "Extreme" and its variations is a FORBIDDEN word for any future Sonic title. As if the idea of putting "Extreme" in the title is an omen for it to be cancelled later on. A curse, if you will.

Sonic Mars 32x "demo gameplay" is actually a mock-up made on Amiga computer by Chris Senn. No actual playable prototype was ever made.

With Sonic X, technically the original pitch was “canceled” since it was shown to take place on Mobius (or “Sonic’s World” as it was called in the anime) due to the population of Station Square having anthro characters. Most of the pilot was reused in the Sonic X Japanese opening “Sonic Drive.” Of course the main thing people remember about this pilot was the radical redesign of Super Sonic which became the infamous Nazo character which of course was reimagined as the main antagonist in ChakraX’s The Power of Nazo and Nazo Unleashed fan films as well as the canceled sequel Wrath of Nazo.

Nitrome took Sonic day and made into Leap Day which is a really fun game even without sonic in it. I used to play Leap a day quite consistently back then and if I knew the game was originally a sonic game I would have been blown away.

If I had a nickel for every canceled sonic game thats name was sonic extreme, I would have three nickels, that’s not that much, but it’s weird that it happened three times

Sonic “Crackers” is actually called Sonic Clackers. Due to a translation error, it was accidentally called Crackers. Clackers are the toys that has like one string with 2 balls connected to the end. It was supposed to be like 2 characters with a clacker. Sort of how the physics worked in the final version of Knuckles Chaotix. [Info from Big Sleeter btw you should watch his content]

Even if you somehow missed one or two projects, I don't think it matters. This is easily the most comprehensive collection of cancelled Sonic projects out there on Youtube. You should be extremely proud! Fantastic job!

Fun fact: I was born the day, Sonic Underground's last episode aired ... It's actually really upsetting for me, because I actually really like this cartoon
