Overview of BASIC Style Breakdown (A simple overview for people interested to compliment the advanced tactics from the video.) - Saenchai relies on pairing power side attacks that look similar to each other, all acting as feints for each other. Crosses, roundhouses to all levels, rear teeps and rear knees all act to this purpose and several ways that they transition into each other or act as fiends for each other are shown in this video. Think of his rear side as like Cro Cop's offense but with nuanced grappling and mobile footwork added in. He has a decent jab but most of his lead hand action is about grappling, as shown in the video. He can parry a punch then grab a kick to set up a sweep in one fluid motion. And it's his main choice to occupy the opponent to set up his rear roundhouse kicks. Jabs are used for this purpose and to block vision or confuse the opponent's rhythm. His lead teep tends to be more of a side teep, gaining him some extra space to cover distance. His footwork is very bouncy for his style, it's built on rhythm and angle changes.

It's still insane to me how, at his age, he still regularly fights and is still at the top of his game. Man's the absolute GOAT.

Saenchai basically has the best elements of Muay Thai, Western Boxing and Taekwondo in his game. He's the ultimate striker

I subbed to TMMA years ago for his boxing breakdowns ( Roberto Duran in particular) and had no interest in anything else, tbh. But he really got me into so many more martial arts. His kickboxing videos in particular have been terrific.

The beautiful thing is, all of these techniques are just little tricks here and there, but he seemledsly adds them all together and becomes unpredictable. He basically overloads his opponent with information, they don't know how to react anymore. He's a true master of his craft.

I will miss these excellent videos.

And this man is SO GREAT that his losing opponents all thank him respectfully for the lessons they learned, as befits a proper master. He just can do it all, and at an age most fighters have long passed their primes. Hes not human lol.

The half beats is what astonished me. In his prime, the hits come from unexpected places and in hard to see times for a non expert like me. Was like watching a new level of fighting within the top.

From Bangkok via Seattle: Saenchi and Buakow are still kings in Thai martial arts. New blood has arrived, but those 2 men helped make Muay Thai worldwide.
