  Two important lessons can be extracted from this video, that the best European mercenaries of that century were English and French veterans of the Hundred Years' War, and that the only ones who benefited from the conflict were the Milanese. I welcome the fact that you talk about more of the conflict of those times in both Italy and Spain, since there are several interesting battles that are not known, for example the intervention of the Black Prince in the Castilian Civil War, to give an example.

  Your city is under attack and you volunteer to aid the defense to just be used as a sacrifice while the real army attacked from the rear as you took the full blunt of the attack and were slaughtered. Brutal tactics by Ubaldini.

  For someone interested about John Hawkwood there is a 49 chapters manga about his employment in France and the campaign he joined that ultimately led to the battle of Crecy. The art is excellence, the strategies and military maneuvers were extremely well depicted and so you should check it out now. Unfortunately the manga wasn’t popular or else it would had received a longer runtime. Anyway it is almost like Vinland Saga in term of art but with Medieval France setting, Hawkwood and the Black Prince as the main duo, and the Royal French Army as main antagonists, so what more could one even hope for?
