  He mixed one of my band’s records in late ‘96. I learned so much in that week. He was already my favorite mixer, and seeing him in action was fantastic..

  I always thought of Nevermind as a concept record because of the chorusing and the swimming pool on the cover. &nbsp;It all looked and sounded very blue, watery and epic.

  I remember reading that Bob Clearmountain was supposed to have mixed Guns n&apos; Roses&apos; Use Your Illusion records, but one day they &quot;caught&quot; Clearmountain in the act of replacing some of Matt Sorums&apos; drums with samples. The band was furious and fired Bob from the project, but it&apos;s funny to see this now and realise that it wasn&apos;t some &quot;evil&quot; plan to ruin the old-school sound of GNR, but simply a pro using good production tools that was misunderstood by the band.

  Haha, I love that RATM had &quot;no samples, keyboards or synthesizers used in the making of this record&quot; printed on the record sleeve and Andy used samples for the snare hmm
