We, Vietnamese, call this "Resistance War Against America"

My father was also a soldier in the Vietnamese army! So was I. VC is what the American soldiers called the South Vietnamese liberation army. We sacrificed so much. The US, along with dozens of allied countries and modern weapons, destroyed my homeland. Even more despicable, the US used chemical weapons, causing over a million Vietnamese people to become disabled. I don't hate the American, French, Chinese... or any of Vietnam's enemies! But I hate anyone who brings war to my homeland. We always welcome foreigners to Vietnam. Many foreigners have lived in Vietnam! They have felt the warmth and culture of my people. I love Vietnam! My homeland.

Watching the ladies feed poor kids as if they were chickens or doves made me cringe. It’s striking how easily wealthy individuals, especially oppressors, can become disconnected from humanity.

I'm Vietnamese and will never forget about at least "the My Lai Massacre". The killers called themselves civilized yet their actions were no different from savages.

From the time I was eight until I was 20 every single year my dad would go to Washington DC and he would take me and he would have to go to the Vietnam memorial wall because my cousin’s name is on there. He had the ID his body in Vietnam. He never talked about what he did in Vietnam. Not once until he passed away in 2010.

i hate wars, the normal everyday citizens always have to pay the price. my uncle died during the vietnam war, he was only 18, that leaves the scar on all of us. Its truly traumatizing reading his last letter to my grandparents, he said he was feeling fine but he told his little brother to take care of the parents for him while he is away. After that, they never heard from him again, couldnt even find his body.

A very interesting cross section of perspectives. I was pleased to see Mr Nguyễn Quang Vinh's book (dedicated to his friends and comrades who fought and died in the 1972 Battle of Quảng Trị) is narrated here on youtube, titled Quang Tri 1972 – An Emotional Vietnam War Novel | Nguyen Quang Vinh - Part 1

It's still one of the most haunting history, you'll never get tired thinking before you go to bed <br>My grandpa went there.. and some of his stories cannot be portrayed in Hollywood movie.

Thank you for this insightful and well needed, in these days, perspective on these wars decided by the elites and for which normal citizens who had to reasons to fight, died.
