  As a German citizen, I totally agree that THIS - the attack on the rule of law - indeed is THE decisive issue here. Our own constitution set up after WWII (with involvement of US representatives!) had this ONE overarching aim: Preventing that ever again a dictatorship can be erected in Germany, and putting in safeguards to protect the rule of law was the most important aim of this constitution! I never thought that the pupil would once need to lecture the teacher on what a proper democracy looks like!

  If not even Congress is allowed to investigate these facilities, it must be assumed that abuses are extreme and violate all basic global human rights standards. It must be stopped and those responsible sanctioned.  Our rights are being demolished.

  We know this administration has no shame about lying and have demonstrated they are quick to do so. They lied about Renee Good and Alex Pretti before their murdered bodies went cold.

  The unknown number of people in Delaney Hall who were nabbed when they showed up at court for their immigration hearings was the initial, blatant attack on our Rule of Law.  They were literally taken from the halls of justice!
