  I used to be addicted to podcasts like EYL. Until I realized  I’m never gonna have enough to earn my leisure. I said F it capitalism has taken enough of my soul. Now I work my 9-5 go home and work on comic books at 50 years old. And I’m good. Capitalism’s only gonna get worse. Better enjoy my gifts and joys now.

  Ngl….I took the midnight train out of Georgia 2 months ago, and I havent been able to put my finger on it until recently, but I realized that one of the biggest problems with Atlanta is that it’s “black excellence” culture is extremely “white power” coded. The expectation to grind and hustle (even illegally), dedicating yourself to your company more than your spouse or community, and ignoring your better judgement for a paycheck are all symptoms of that black excellence mentality. As you said early in the video, you can’t realistically expect to get to the mogul status off the black dollar alone. Hell, Tyler Perry’s entire catalogue is just him selling our caricatures to white people.
