Sou colecionador de vídeo cassetes, tenho hoje 35 aparelhos na coleção, alguns são modelos raros, incluindo um Betamax. Eu mesmo faço revisão, consertos, regulagens e manutenção nos aparelhos. Também coleciono Fitas VHS, tenho um pouco mais de 600 fitas de filmes originais + cerca de 70 fitas com conteúdos da TV gravados na década de '90 inteira e começo dos anos 2000.

Eu li um artigo no inicio dos anos 2000 do John Dvorak argumentando que VHS venceu a Betamax principalmente porque tinha mais tempo de gravação, que permitia gravar jogos inteiros esportivos transmitidos na TV. O tema do artigo dele era sobre como os games estavam impulsionando o desenvolvimento tecnológico e fez essa ligação entre os jogos eletrônicos e os jogos esportivos. Os jogos (eletrônicos ou esportivo) estavam moldando o caminho da indústria tecnológica.

Em 1986 meu pai foi trabalhar nos Estados Unidos e trouxe 2 Vídeo Cassetes e uma filmadora Minolta, temos as fitas das filmagens de lá até hoje.

Eu ainda tenho um aparelho vhs e um aparelho de dvd esses aparelhos me faz lembrar o quanto era difícil comprar um,pra poder assistir nossos vídeos preferidos.
