He looked at me and said momma I want to take you on a date to see cars❤❤I looked at his little face and with tears in my eyes I said of course ❤❤so we went to the movies to watch it and that was the best date I ever had ❤❤❤I'm a single parent and that was so precious to me ❤❤I raised 2 incredible boys and to this day they still get me a gift for mothers day and fathers day ❤❤❤

"Forty years ago, that interstate down there didn't exist."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Back then, cars came across the country a whole different way."

"How do you mean?"

"Well, the road didn't cut through the land like that interstate. It moved with the land, it rose, it fell, it curved. Cars didn't drive on it to make great time. They drove on it to have a great time."

Fun Fact: Larry the Cable Guy's first animated flim.

Visual Confirmation Fact: Every third blink of the stoplight in Radiator Springs really is slower by half a second, confirming Fillmore's (George Carlin) observation.

Final Bow Fact: This was Paul Newman's last American feature film before his death of lung cancer in 2008. It turned out to be the highest-grossing movie of his career. George Carlin died of heart failure three months earlier. This was the highest-grossing film of his career as well.

Music Enthusiast Fact: The production wanted to use a little-known version of the song (Get Your Kicks On) Route 66 (1961) by Chuck Berry, which had appeared on the B-side of one of his singles. They approached Berry's record company, who didn't know anything about such a version. After they trawled through their record vaults, they realized that Pixar was right.

Location Location Fact: The fictional town of Radiator Springs was inspired by several real-life locations along historic Route 66. In 2001, a creative team from Pixar, including John Lasseter and Joe Ranft, toured parts of Route 66 in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Their guide along the way was author and Route 66 historian Michael Wallis. Wallis provided the voice of the Sheriff in the film.

The Fabulous Hudson Hornet was a real NASCAR racing team. Doc Hudson was patterned after that Hudson, right down to the paint job.

John Ratzenberger who voices Mack in Cars and the Piggy Bank in Toy Story is the only actor who voices a character in every Pixar film. He was known for playing Cliff on Cheers before Pixar. The fact that he’s in literally all Pixar films leads me to believe that he must be a very likable guy in real life to be the only person to have that honor.

The fastest four tire change in history. The best scene in the entire movie.

The Hudson Hornet was Paul Newman, a famous actor in the 1950's until 2002 and was a professional race car driver as well. Sally was Bonnie Hunt.

My son, he’s almost 13 now, watched this movie everyday, multiple times a day, from the age of 1 until he was 4 or 5.

He wore through the original dvd and I went out and bought a new one.

I’d buy the die-cast “Cars” cars for him whenever I saw them at the stores. He recently began collecting them again. This movie holds a special place in my heart ❤.
