  In the 80s you'd watch a lot of movies in theaters blind with original concepts like "The Terminator"! Very little got spoiled. Best movie era ever!

  I recently read Arnold's memoir and he talks about his decision to audition for the Terminator. He had already gotten his start with Conan and he was dead set on becoming the next big Hollywood movie star, and he originally auditioned for the role of Kyle Reese but the director James Cameron decided he would be a better fit as the Terminator. Initially Arnold was reluctant to play the role of a villain because he thought that movie stars only played heroes and not the villains, and his agents thought the same thing and tried to talk him out of it. But after Arnold had lunch with Cameron where they talked about the character, he managed to convince Arnold to take the role and the rest is cinematic history.

  Fun fact: the terminator in the nightmare was portrayed by the late Franco Columbu—Arnold's close friend, fellow bodybuilder, and best man at Arnold's marriage to Maria Schriver.

  O.J. Simpson was considered for the role of the Terminator, but the Cameron decided against it because he felt O.J. was too nice a guy for audiences to believe him as a killing machine.

  Fun Fact: &nbsp;The Terminator was James Cameron&apos;s first big film. &nbsp;He was a truck driver when Star Wars came out, and he loved it so much that he decided to quit his trucking career and pursue movie making. &nbsp;When making The Terminator, they had a really low budget, and didn&apos;t bother to get the necessary filming permits. &nbsp;So, that is why most of the scenes are at night. &nbsp;They would quickly set up a shot, film it, and then hurry away before any cops showed up.
