I'm so glad you like my sweater mapping technique that you learned in my video sweater classes. I've always taught it in my video sweater classes, but it's been so popular I FINALLY decided to make it a stand alone in class for Vogue Knitting Live in NYC

Nicole, this was a fantastic class. This really makes so much sense, allowing a knitter to stay connected to a pattern they want without having to continue working with the way it was written if it's not their cup of tea.

I love knitting garments in pieces bottom up and the stitching them together. It's so much easier having smaller pieces on the needle than the whole garment towards the end.

Very good! I think after knitting a lot of tops for myself with gauge swatches, I pretty much know where to start as far as sizing goes, but putting it all on paper with pictorial instructions is brilliant. Going by finished projects we can also make a good guess at the amount of rows as well. Eg rib to waist line.
I’m definitely going to try this and have just started a top so it’s a good time.
I’ve also started writing down line instructions. When we start on say a lace stitch the pattern is written from the first stitch. But when you know the sequence of each segment it’s so much easier to get your head around. Thank you 😊

I’ve been using knit companion for several years. I love it. Does take time to learn the more advanced features

Nicole, you have broadened my horizon!! Using the FLAX by Tin Can Knits as example is wonderful because I have a second one in my que. The pattern has been updated to include 3 yarn weights so I want to knit a DK & now I will use what you have taught me about pattern blueprints!!! I learned so much I was inspired to join as a member. Thank you for your hard work!

As a new knitter, I am questioning why we should not begin a top-down sweater with the collarband? Can you please do a subsequent video sharing your fave way to begin a top-down sweater? I need all the help I can get. I have learnt so so much from your fabulous videos! Thank you!
