Them casting Ncuti, a genocide survivor, to play a genocide survivor who tortures another genocide survivor while not challenging the people who commit said genocide was such a wild decision

NEVER thought I’d see the doctor torturing someone and quickly forgiving himself

oh boy, it's the "amazon may be bad, but the only option we have in the end is to ask the CEOs politely to treat people better" episode again but even worse

Wow. Torturing someone and then shrugging it off with "I scared myself back there" -- basically how a spouse abuser would do it.

When I see the doctor torturing a heroic man made comicaly evil as to not garner sypathy, I can't but think of the 2005 episode "dalek" where him even wishing for the suicide of one dalek is treated as a complete betrayal of everything the doctor is supposed to stand for.

This doctor whould indeed make a good dalek.

The message is clear: forgive the genocide, not the rebellion caused by the genocide. Rather British, to be honest

The Interstellar Song Contest was such a tone-deaf episode. So much so, I was half expecting the Doctor to say "Skaro has the right to defend itself."

"There are no heroes and there are no villains."

Hm. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. A story about a corporation enslaving an entire planet doesn't have a villain. Uh oh. HMMMMMM.

"Post-colonial except for Palestine" fits perfectly into the definitive liberal: opposed to every war, except the current war, and in favour of every civil rights struggle, except the one happening right now.

The fact that this is supposed to be the "healed doctor" after Tennant 2 sorted most of his shit out, and yet one reminder of gallifrey has him literally torturing someone
