The Last War? The Geopolitical Shift No One is Prepared For ft Orya Maqbool jan

Watch extended version of this podcast https://matrix.eonpodcast.com/watch/o... Amanullah sits down with Orya Maqbool Jan for a wide-ranging discussion on Pakistan’s political system, Balochistan, Punjab, media, regional geopolitics, and the changing balance of power in the country. The conversation begins with the evolution of Pakistani journalism — from serious newspaper columns and long-form political analysis to 24/7 television, breaking-news culture, vlogging, and digital documentaries. Orya Maqbool Jan reflects on how the media landscape has changed and how that shift has influenced public understanding of politics and international affairs. The discussion then moves toward Turkey, Israel, Syria, Yemen, and the wider Middle East, examining how regional alliances, proxy conflicts, and shifting power blocs are reshaping Pakistan’s strategic environment. A major part of the episode focuses on Balochistan, including governance failures, resource management, Saindak, Reko Diq, Gwadar, and the long-term political consequences of weak planning and unequal development. The conversation also explores historical parallels in Punjab, including the rule of Ranjit Singh, the Sikh Empire, colonial structures, and the relationship between military power and political classes. These historical examples are used to understand how authority, administration, and political bargaining continue to shape modern Pakistan. Finally, Amanullah and Orya Maqbool Jan discuss Punjab and Sindh voter behavior, PML-N’s changing political position, Imran Khan’s rise after 2022, and the erosion of traditional political strongholds. ⏱️ Chapters 00:00 Introduction & Highlights 01:00 Orya Maqbool Jan on the State of Journalism 02:26 From Print Columnists to Corporate Media 05:30 Media Narratives & International Affairs 06:48 Turkey, Israel & Syria Geopolitics 09:25 Balochistan Crisis & Governance Failures 11:30 Saindak, Reko Diq, Gwadar & Resource Mismanagement 14:35 Pakistan’s Foreign Policy & Regional Alignments 17:45 Yemen, Gulf Politics & Proxy Warfare 21:10 Regional Power Shifts & State Neutrality 24:50 Regionalism vs National Politics in Pakistan 26:25 Colonial History & Punjab’s Political Past 30:20 Ranjit Singh & Military Governance 33:55 Political Classes, Power & State Structure 35:20 Sindh, Punjab & Changing Voter Alignments 38:15 PML-N’s Political Legacy & Strategy 39:20 Imran Khan, 2022 & Public Sentiment 41:15 Pakistan’s Electoral Dynamics Today 42:50 Final Thoughts & Outro This episode offers a deep look at the forces shaping Pakistan today — from Balochistan and Punjab politics to Imran Khan, PML-N, regional geopolitics, civil-military power, and the changing role of media. 🎙️ Join Matrix to access: Exclusive live session on complex topics Everyday news update Raw, unfiltered couch sessions Live Q&A sessions with Tariq, Amanullah & Asadullah The chance to join us in our studio in our Live session Exclusive drug awareness documentary Exclusive reports on big agendas Meet & Greet with EON boys Be part of something real where every voice matters.
