How did the whole tesseract/bookcase thing land with you? Did the ending blow your mind or leave you scratching your head? Let’s geek out in the replies!

The documentary parts with the people talking about the dust storms refers to something that really happened. Back in the days of what they call the "Dust Bowl" in the 1930s, US and Canadian farmers suffered tremendously from storms just like the one you saw in the movie. The people you see talking about the storms in the "documentary" parts are actual survivors from a real documentary about it that Christopher Nolan weaved into the movie. Except of course for Ellyn Burstyn who played grown-up Murph.

The movied correctly describes relativity If you could somehow enter and survive extreme gravity (like falling into a black hole or getting near one) your time would run slower and slower compared to those outside of that gravity. So to them, it would look like you were frozen. And to you, it would look like the rest of the universe was speeding up. Stars would start to move faster and faster across your sky. Time would run slower for you than for them. Once you came out, all the people you knew would have at least aged. More likely died long ago.

So they did a lot to base the movie on fact. But of course, nobody realistically can survive that gravity. Gotta have some fiction in the science fiction, I guess.

15:48 Space station stays in earth orbit, not outer space, due to them moving at high speed ro balance with earth gravity to gain momentum.

The concept for the movie was written by a Nobel Prize winning physicists, Kip Thorne. He worked alongside Christopher Nolan during the making of the movie. Dr Mann's robot was named K.I.P.P. in recognition of Kip Thorne.
The science in the movie was kept as accurate as possible for know subjects. There's a lot of theoretical concepts, but again, the best minds on those subjects were consulted.
As far as does time change as you travel faster? Yes, that's Einstein's Theory of Relativity. The more massive (gravitational pull) an object is also affects time. Distance from the center of mass as well, which is to say you'll age faster at sea level, than on top of Everest.
Kip Thorne wrote an entire book called The Science of Interstellar. Highly recommend it if you're into the nerdy aspect of the film.

No. We do not yet have the technology for deep space travel. We have not been to Saturn at all and would sleep during the trip if it were possible. But its futuristic science fiction.

What scene hit you hardest, fam? Was it Coop promising Murph he’d come back or that wild time‑dilation moment on Miller’s planet where an hour equals seven years?
