  This is a Bosch K-Jetronic, a Fuel Injection System. This disk controls the amount of air flowing into the motor. There is a potentiometer on the side that reports the opening to the engine control unit. Check if both Fuel Pumps are working, check fuel Filter near the pumps. If this works, then check ignition, Spark Plugs. And do yourself a favor and replace the heat-conducting paste under the ignition controller, which is mounted with three screws on the right-hand side. This will make it last longer.

  This car came out amazing for how long it sat out. Its a true statement on how much care Mercedes built cars back in the day. Quality and refinement weren&apos;t just nice to have items, they were traits of the brand. This car was built like a tank and it shows. Great video guys, and as far as performance or luxury? Well 20 years ago all I cared about was how fast my car could go. After 40 my backside now prefers a bit more luxury on my daily commute, although a powerful engine is still nice to have for those impromptu street light races when you want to feel young again lol.

  The 380 SEL (3.8 liter V8) was 2 levels down on the big Mercedes sedans. The 450SEL (4.5 liter V8) was top dog. Back in the 80&apos;s l worked for a shop thst used to import models that weren&apos;t sold in the U.S. like the 500SEL which was truly a great luxury sedan. With the euro spec bumpers, headlights and emissions (no catalytic converters). They performed much better. The same for the SL coupes.
