  I very much appreciate your honest assessments.   They make a huge difference cause these amps are marketed as something and they cost soooo much.   Good to know what you’re paying for.

  I really appreciate your honesty in these reviews. I feel like I’ve fell victim to so much marketing over the years, being a consumer without knowledge of how these amplifiers are constructed. <br><br>It’s good to have someone who knows what they’re talking about, who is willing to educate the public so that we can spend our money wisely. <br><br>I have no issue paying more for quality, but it irks me to know that some companies are putting together kits and charging such a premium as if they had designed the amp themselves. <br><br>Anyway, thank you and please keep doing what you’re doing. <br><br>Merry Christmas.

  This video has enabled me to learn &quot;pearl&quot; after &quot;pearl&quot;. &nbsp;Every sentence had importance to someone like me, an amateur who really wants to learn every little nuance . &nbsp; Thanks for making this video. &nbsp;I am planning to build a simple amp using what I have learned. &nbsp;I am already proficient at soldering and reading most schematics having been a ham radio operator for years. &nbsp;I had many mentors.

  I own two Headstrong amps, they are among my favorites and will never sell. I’ve sung their praises on forums. That being said, I absolutely appreciate your honest assessment and I plan on, at the very least, changing the AC supply to code (safety ground, fuse the hot) and probably dedicate a ground for the reservoir cap and PT secondary center tap. And of course tighten all those pots and jacks. I look forward to your other vids on this. Keep being honest here, it does everyone a service, thanks.

  Excellent video and explanation of proper amp building, especially the importance of proper grounding! <br> <br>1. &nbsp;&quot;Standard aftermarket footswitch&quot;. &nbsp;These are notorious for going bad. &nbsp;Mojotone actually builds their own, and it&apos;s very high quality with Carling switches and robust, high-quality cable. <br>2. &nbsp;&quot;Cheap Belton reverb tank&quot;. &nbsp;I agree; there are better quality tanks out there. <br>3. &nbsp;Mojotone USA-made Heyboer transformers are good, as are Belton sockets. &nbsp;We use Mojotone chassis, which are good quality USA-made, although we have to modify them to make them Texas Tone worthy <br>4. &nbsp;Mojotone kits are fine for a DIY home builder, but for a $3,000 production amp, they&apos;re not really sufficient. &nbsp;Headstrong calls this amp a &quot;Hand-wired AA1164 Princeton Reverb replica,&quot; which is part of the problem. &nbsp;The famous Fender blackface amps all have multiple grounds. &nbsp;This video properly points out the importance of good grounding and not having multiple points to ground. &nbsp;I strive for zero hiss, hum, and buzz. &nbsp;A certain amount of hiss is inevitable on high-gain amps, which a Princeton Reverb isn&apos;t. <br>5. &nbsp;Loose jacks, pots, and ground points are inexcusable, especially a $3,150 amp. <br>6. &nbsp;Fusing the neutral! &nbsp;OMG! <br>7. &nbsp; Copying Fender 1950s or 1960s builds is one reason I don&apos;t build &quot;clones&quot; or &quot;replicas&quot;, and why you don&apos;t want to buy a real &quot;clone&quot; or &quot;replica&quot;. <br>8. &nbsp;It doesn&apos;t cost any more to do it right! &nbsp;I agree 100%!

  I have this amp, so thanks for the upload on this model. Bought it at least 3rd hand, it’s been gigged and has never missed a beat yet, zero issues. It sounds far better than the Fender Silverface Princeton RI ( Custom?) &nbsp;that I previously owned. However, after watching this, I’ll take out the chassis and will check all the fittings for tightness, and maybe undertake the re route of the earthing points at a later date. Just to add I found 80% of all the fixtures loose on my Fender 65 DRRI so thanks for these uploads.
