This is almost identical to Dave鈥檚 simplest soft latching circuit from 10 years ago, but your graphics are better and you provide a real example. One thing though, you glaze over that the mosfet has to be pnp and the bjts must be npn. If people don鈥檛 know the circuit symbols then they are going to have a hard time.
