"Better Commander" is a newer channel that's putting out some great, well thought out content right now. "UnpopularMTG" is another channel I appreciate alot. There are some great channels out there but you gotta find them.

Love how frequently Trinket Mage will slip in a cheeky little "or just proxy it" as often as he can

Love this video. And I definitely don't let others experiences online determine what I think it should be. Would love to see what tools you use to track prints when buying sets as a video. I wouldn't buy out a year but there are sets indefinitely one of each available card.

I’ve always had the foresight to never buy sealed products after my first set, and it’s always been easy to stay caught up thanks to just buying base copies like you said. Obviously I’ve bought nicer variants of cards too, but those mostly reside in my cube, which I intend to pass to my kids. I also am not buying 20 copies of something, if I need an expensive card from my cube I’ll just sleeve it in my new deck till I’m ready to play cube again then quickly gather the 5-10 cards that aren’t in it and swap them back in. My wife and I don’t make much, but by staying smart like you were saying we’ve never struggled due to my love of magic.

We don’t need to accept wizard’s business methods. They need to be more customer oriented

As a relatively newer player to magic, I do love how positive the community is about proxies. I’m planning on getting my own setup going at home and I’m already getting really excited for adding my own custom art in my own style to play with my friends. That’s what matters after all.

I don’t spend more than $1 for a card. I proxy so much stuff. I just wanna play the game.

I have a box of real cards, and two boxes of proxies. I don’t even care.

The irony of you saying “these guys are lying to you” and then saying “you guys are my friends I’m just here to talk” is so funny to me. It’s hard to take anything you say after that seriously.

Edit: you should have called the video “privileged white guy tells you to spend $70 on someone in India”. In all seriousness I agree with the general consensus of the video but like… duh? It’s well known wizards send free product to influencers, we are well past the general person not understanding sponsorships. This was such a strange video.
