Having another person in the competition who was also balancing school and game dev was a great motivator. Congrats on pushing it through! Still blown away by how creative Vampy's Big Day is. Amazing work man!

Incase you haven't realized, stealth games are just puzzle games by nature. Think any game from the Hitman series, you have to be stealthy yes, but there's an objective of killing your target and you need to do things in the right order at the right time if you want to get to them without getting caught.

really LOVE your art style, i think instead of ruining the general scary impressions for vampires, you actually made it better! Now we get to see different sides of a vampire. Very wholesome and charming game!

I think the judges are wrong tbh, most stealth games are also puzzle games, I mean stealth itself is a puzzle. I think giving full control over the sun does make the game a lot easier and makes the game more of just a normal stealth game but with a vampire theme, if made into a full game it would probably be best to make different tiers of difficulty that gives you different levels of control over the sun. I think the biggest problem with the puzzle mechanics was that it was mostly unrelated to the game itself, most stealth games make the puzzles revolve around opening doors and progressing or figuring out which person has a key. If you were to develop this into a full game(in which I'd recommend, I think it could be really successful if done right) it would be best to go down either 2 paths: 1. A open world game where you are trying to make your way across a land or to an objective while having to manage your blood levels and solving puzzles on how to proceed through the open world to obtain certain items(like a zelda-like) or 2. A level by level game where each map has an increasing number of people on the map and puzzles on how to get to them. Personally, I think 1 would be more engaging as it allows you to make a very alive world especially with how good your art style is. But this is just my advice as a game dev, I think your game jam game was really good.

Well done. Importantly I agree with many others, the art style is great. Too many indie games use repetitive samey pixel art. Yours looked fresh and an individual style. Stay with it please. And good luck for your future.
