If you’re interested Mad, Mortius and Caspar Fox have done a bunch of EPIC animatic reactions where they have the original animator in a call with them, and they explain a bunch of design choices made in their work. If you’re curious about why one animator made a certain design choice, I highly recommend checking out those videos

just a fun fact, zeus's name is never mentioned once in this entire musical, because of his status and power in mythology, most people will recognize who it is without the need of an introduction, the closest thing we get for a title is athena calling zeus "father, god king"

One thing I think AnniFlamma does better than anyone else is portray the Gods as NOT HUMAN. They are seriously powerful entities who just happen to have a human like form among their options. Anni does so well showing that through her fluid shifts of their form. Which, in turn, strongly emphasis to me the bond shown between her and Ody at the end of this song- Ody is making the absolute most 'you are part of my family and I trust you' symbolic gesture that he can (offering his son to her to hold and admire), crossing the divide of 'human/not-human' in a very visceral way. Wonderful visual story telling, to me.

Honestly, the fact that you are beloved until another man touches you shows the misogyny more to me. Athena is Zeus‘s favourite and a virgin goddess.

Did you notice Aelous and Hermes in the crowd for Gigi's? It's during the section with Ares 😂 love all the artists who work within this fandom, I really enjoy how unique these all are despite starting with the same point!

Something I appreciate with Gigi's animatic is that it gives more reasons for Zeus to be angry with Athena by the end. He's brought all of Odysseus's godly foes and Hera the Hero-Hater, so he thinks there's no chance of Athena winning. Therefore it makes sense for him to make it spectacle and invite all the Gods to witness his victory. Not only does she beat his challenge in front of ALL THE GODS, she does so by highlighting Zeus' own infidelity. In his eyes, she was demanded he change his decree and tried to shame him publicly. (You might even add that the Gods he summoned for the challenge made up some of the Gods that led the last coup against him)
