  I think my favorite favorite favorite thing that I never see anybody talk about……episode 5 Ilya tells Shane he will only teach Shane the “useful” Russian words. &nbsp;Then the first words he teaches him are I Love You.

  The thing is... Ilya knows what it&apos;s like to be in a family environment where you cannot be yourself, so the second he realizes that Shane&apos;s family isn&apos;t going to immediatley disown him, he&apos;s able to relax. He&apos;s in danger at all times around his family and in Russia so he knows there&apos;s no real threat here. And even furhter, this is the first time since his mother passed that he&apos;s able to be welcomed in a family environment. I mean look at the little dance he does when he&apos;s eating the pasta, it&apos;s probably the first home-cooked family meal he&apos;s had in ages. I don&apos;t think he&apos;s freaking out the way you think he might be. I mean, maybe at the beginning since Shane coming out to his parents also means coming out to them as well, but as soon as he realizes they&apos;re just shocked but still supportive, he knows they&apos;re good and safe in this situation, so he&apos;s able to relax. Minor spoilers, but I LOVE the relationship that Ilya&apos;s able to build with Shane&apos;s parents over the next book.
