  The fact Sonny was more concerned about the money being stolen over his men being massacred said everything about his true character.<br><br>Besides not keeping up with technology, mob bosses like him were the reason the mob fell. &nbsp;There was no loyalty.

  House Party is the first real sign of Ryder&apos;s betrayal. When a Grove Street member tells Sweet the Ballas are heading their way, Ryder says he&apos;s going to get some homies. However he never comes back

  There&apos;s actually evidence of Sonny&apos;s betrayal tendency right after the ambush...... The families weren&apos;t touching the coke business in Liberty, Tommy was sent to &quot;cut them a nice slice of the action&quot;.... So why would Sonny suddenly have briefcases of coke and money on the table when he calls Tommy? Because it&apos;s the exact briefcases &quot;lost&quot; in the deal....

  &quot;Him not firing would be proof he wasnt on grove streets side&quot; thats the point he wasnt meant to betray them in the game originally, due to personal life and money issues he had to withdraw from the game during its production, reason why he betrayed the families and died in the game later on, when in truth he was meant to live until the end of the game. Also might be the reason why his name wasnt mentioned when CJ found out about the green sabre, thats bc it was only supposed to be smoke opening that garage door...not Ryder.

  Especially after the Green Sabre setup, you can kind of understand why Ryder folded so easily. Suddenly he’s around powerful syndicates, corrupt cops, money everywhere, influence everywhere — stuff he’d probably never experienced before. From his perspective, Grove Street probably looked finished while Smoke and CRASH looked untouchable and controlled all of Los Santos.<br><br>That’s why I don’t really see Ryder as this cold mastermind traitor like Big Smoke. Smoke clearly wanted power and money no matter what. Ryder felt more like someone weak-minded who got pulled into something bigger than him and just couldn’t stand on his own principles. I even think there were moments where he probably regretted what he did deep down, because unlike Smoke, he never fully gave off that calculated “I only care about myself” energy. He just seemed like someone who folded under pressure and manipulation. That’s my opinion anyway lol
