  just knowing how to deal damage and not instantly wipe on a  boss makes Pat better help than most people who need carrying

  The nigh-constant intense panic is so funny. I have definitely played and won with randoms way worse than you are, just having combat fundamentals puts you above most.

  I know you probably already got plenty of comments from people explaining it, but this is the type of game you have to play over and over until you understand most things. It&apos;s very similar to most multiplayer games. Being good at souls games isn&apos;t enough to carry you through this, you also need to learn nightreign&apos;s mechanics and learn how to be quick.<br><br>Once you played a few hours, you&apos;ll be significantly faster and understand how people memorize the routing and the best places to go early and what bosses you should and should not engage with at which points of the run.

  the panic of being behind in optimization knowledge but good base fundamentals was a great contrast. This was quite entertaining

  Learning to play with friends in a call obviously is the best way to learn in a guilt free way. But finding those people who also want to learn can be the hard part<br><br>Also learning what on the map is worth the time and what isn&apos;t is another learning curve.<br><br>I wouldn&apos;t have put 300 plus hours into Deep of Night if it wasnt for the people I play with.

  The panic only lasts as long as it takes you to learn what you&apos;re supposed to be doing. A couple things that help with this are <br>1: learning what points of interest to do when, boss locations, and general map knowledge just take time, so when starting just follow your team mates. <br>2: the most important thing to look at when looking at weapons are the passives, if it has a hand icon it has to be equipped in your hands, otherwise they are always active. This is where you can get bonuses like +40% damage negation at full hp, or improved skill attack power, etc. <br>3: consumables are very strong and quite literally everywhere, so don&apos;t be afraid to use them. Same with character skills, they recharge quickly so be sure to use them.<br>As a side note, remember sharing is caring, if you see a decent weapon or consumable you don&apos;t need, mark it for your team mates. You can also drop weapons from the boss loot without picking it up first.

  I relate to Pat&apos;s anxiety about being slow and not contributing to the team, but this game is all knowledge checks -- once you&apos;ve played enough, you know where things spawn and where the good routes are to clear lots of bosses quickly. Past that, it&apos;s all about learning how to play your character, getting good drops that cater to that character&apos;s strengths, and learning the boss patterns. It&apos;s all just a matter of time and experience! And even if you don&apos;t really know what you&apos;re doing, a third person who can draw aggro or rez someone is always valuable.<br><br>But what&apos;s funny is that I&apos;ve never gotten so angry at my teammates in a multiplayer game as I do playing Nightreign with randoms who decide to make the most boneheaded decisions and waste time and wipe us before we even get to the final boss! It&apos;s the first multiplayer game I&apos;ve ever played where I&apos;ve gotten so heated! So uh, I guess Pat&apos;s anxiety is more well-founded than usual... but the way he&apos;s playing, I would never have gotten mad at him! It&apos;s always the person who decides we should fight the castle roof boss on day 1 at level 6 while the circle is closing, THAT guy is the problem.

  I played Nightreign just following people and attacking what they did for like almost 150 hours before even trying to lead the way on runs, even more before being confident. Then when the dlc map came out I did the same thing again for that cause is a very weird map<br><br>Hope end up enjoying it more, very fun game

  Chat&apos;s trying to help Pat but I feel like they&apos;re doing way more harm than good by being a little too hardcore. Same problem as the Time Stranger playthrough sadly
